Poetry and Pictures - Weather

In the mid-1850s, American artist George Inness was hired by a railroad company to create paintings that showed the railroad’s growth. This picture, called The Lackawanna Valley, shows the railroad in the wilderness of Scranton, PA and it also includes a low uniform layer of stratus clouds.
