Vitaly Sevastyanov

Vitaly Sevastyanov is a cosmonaut who was born on July 8, 1935, in Krasno-Uralsk, Russia.

Sevastyanov became a cosmonaut in 1967. He has spent over 81 days in space on two spaceflights. In 1970, Sevastyanov flew aboard Soyuz 9. The crew spent 18 days aboard the cramped spacecraft. When they landed, the crew was so weak that they had to be carried.

In 1975, Sevastyanov made his second flight aboard Salyut 4. The crew spent 63 days doing scientific experiments and making observations of the Sun.
