Steven Hawley

Steven Hawley is an American astronaut who was born on December 12, 1951, in Kansas. Before he became an astronaut, Hawley worked in astronomy.

Hawley became an astronaut in 1974. He has spent over 412 hours in space on three spaceflights.

Hawley made his first spaceflight aboard Mission 41-D in 1984. The crew deployed three satellites during this mission. In 1986, Hawley helped deploy two more satellites aboard Space Shuttle Columbia. Hawley made his last spaceflight aboard the shuttle Discovery. The Hubble Space Telescope was deployed during this mission.
